I am Gabor — a senior software developer with 9+ years crafting enterprise UIs in SAPUI5 and Fiori, an amateur astronomer of a quarter century, and a slow reader of old books.
Chapter I — Craft
My daily work lives inside SAP's Fiori design language. Since 2016 I have been building — and rebuilding — apps in SAPUI5, from custom controls to full Fiori Elements applications backed by oData services and CDS views.
Underneath that: plain JavaScript, HTML, CSS and LESS — the fundamentals I keep returning to because they age well. I care about interfaces that get out of the way, keyboard-friendly flows, and code that the person after me can still read.
Chapter II — The Sky
Astronomy is not a hobby I picked up — it is the language I learned to think in. I studied it at university, and I have spent the last 25+ years giving public demonstrations: setting up scopes on sidewalks, in schoolyards, at festivals, and watching people meet the Moon for the first time.
Saturn's rings. The Orion Nebula on a cold January night. The moment a child realises the little dot in the eyepiece is another world. That is the work I am most proud of.
Chapter III — Thought
Between compile cycles and clear nights I read philosophy and study ancient cultures — the Presocratics, Stoicism, Egyptian and Mesopotamian cosmologies, the myths people told about the same sky I still point a telescope at.
It is the same instinct, really: trying to make sense of the pattern. Software, starlight and old thought all reward the same slow attention.
